Baan Lanna started as a conversation between two friends who travelled often for work. After one too many nights spent in airport corridors or overpriced transit hotels with no character, they decided to open a guesthouse that felt like a home rather than a stopover facility. The name — Baan, meaning house in Thai — captures that intention.
The property on Charoen Mueang Road was chosen partly for its distance from the terminal (close enough to be useful, far enough to feel peaceful) and partly for its small garden. The rooms were designed with a clear purpose: help a tired traveller wash, sleep and leave feeling a little more themselves. Nothing more is needed.
Since opening, Baan Lanna has welcomed solo business travellers, couples on long-haul connections, families navigating multi-leg journeys with young children and groups who arrive late and need an early shuttle. Each situation has taught us something about what real hospitality at an airport guesthouse looks like.

Daily Deep Clean
Every room is cleaned and reset between guests using a structured checklist. Linen is changed for each stay, regardless of duration.
Guest Privacy & Safety
Guest details are handled with discretion. Room keys and access are managed carefully. CCTV covers common areas only, never room interiors.
Climate & Air Quality
All rooms have independent air conditioning. Filters are cleaned monthly. Windows open onto the garden for guests who prefer natural air.
Reliable Connectivity
Our Wi-Fi is on a dedicated business line with a backup connection. Speed and stability are checked weekly.
Verified Shuttle Service
Our shuttle vehicle is serviced regularly and the route to the airport is assessed each season for road conditions. Drivers hold current Thai commercial licences.

Baan Lanna is registered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and operates under the local accommodation licensing framework for Chiang Mai province.
Hospitality shaped by Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai has long held a different pace from Bangkok. The north of Thailand carries a quieter, more considered approach to daily life — one that airport area accommodation has not always reflected. Baan Lanna tries to bring that Lanna spirit into the guesthouse experience, without making it theatrical.
Guests find complimentary Thai tea alongside the coffee sachets. The corridor lighting is warm rather than fluorescent. The garden planting is local and seasonal. These are small choices, but they add up to something that travellers notice when they walk through the door after a long flight.
We believe that a guesthouse near an airport does not need to feel like an airport. Our job is to create a brief, genuine pause — somewhere between where you have been and where you are going — that leaves you a little more ready for what comes next.
